Artistic philosophy

Discovery of Ceramics

As a child, I dreamed of sculpting hair. After university studies followed by training in hairstyling, my journey took a decisive turn more than fifteen years ago with the discovery of ceramics. My encounter with clay felt like an obvious calling, a true revelation. As a self-taught artist, I gradually developed my practice, guided by the need to express my sensitivity through the material.

Women at the Heart of My Artistic Approach

My work explores the balance between strength and fragility. Ceramics, a resilient yet delicate material, allows me to stage this tension through fine, light, and elongated forms.

Women lie at the heart of my artistic approach, and ceramics becomes their reflection. Like women, clay is both strong and deeply sensitive. This duality feeds my sculptures, where the softness of the curves expresses the tension between solidity and fragility.

My works celebrate femininity in all its complexity, addressing themes such as motherhood, resilience, and inner transformation. This feminine presence is expressed through the apparent lightness of the forms and movement—often inspired by the wind—which guides the lines and animates the volumes.

Between Intuition and Technique

When I take a block of clay, the mind quickly fades away. My hands take over and enter into an instinctive dialogue with the material. The gesture becomes a language, oscillating between power and delicacy, in a form of communion where clay and emotions meet. This first, highly intuitive phase allows the form, movement, and intention to emerge.

When this phase comes to an end, I step back and feel that the material has come to life, infused with my emotions and sensitivity. A second, more technical and conscious stage then begins: I work on the details, refine the lines, and adjust the balances.

Finally comes glazing, the last step of the process, where glazes highlight the volumes, accentuate the curves, and reveal the movement of the sculpture.
